Q – Who or what created the foundation?
A – The foundation was founded in 2025 by a vote of the Mando Mercs Costume Club’s International Command Council (board of directors) on a proposal submitted by Tom Hutchens/Mandalore the Uniter, MMCC’s founder & CEO.
Q – What does “Beskar’ta” mean?
A – Beskar’ta is the new Mando’a word for “Iron Heart”. Kar’ta Beskar is the archaic form of the word.
Q – Is the foundation a charity?
A – Yes. The foundation is a registered public foundation under section 501 (c) (3) of the IRS tax code
Q – Who is eligible for Foundation grants and scholarships?
A – Auxiliary Members, Official Members, and their legal children are eligible. The Foundation plans to partner with Mando Mercs Costume Club clans (chapters) in 2026 to give small grants for educational outreach. The foundation’s Selection Committee may elect to provide an emergency grant to a Foundling and/or Supporting member of the Mando Mercs Costume Club under extraordinary circumstances.
Q – How do I apply for a Member Relief Fund grant or the Aay’han Bajur Scholarship?

Q – Who runs the foundation?
A- The foundation is ran by a volunteer board of directors made up of Mando Mercs Costume Club officers and members.
Q – Does the foundation pay it’s board of directors or staff?
A- No director, officer, member, or staff position within the foundation is paid.
Q – Who is the foundation’s board of directors chairperson?
A – As part of their official duties, the Mando Mercs Costume Club’s Mandalore or Chief Executive Officer assumes the role of foundation chairperson.
Q – Who is the foundation’s Executive Director?
A – As part of their official duties, the Mando Mercs Costume Club’s Adjutant General assumes the role of foundation Executive Director.
